Al Hussein Fund support awards ceremony for “Wamid” short film competition

The Al Hussein Fund for Excellence supported the closing ceremony for the distribution of prizes to the winners of the “Wamid” short film competition, which was held in Jordan and focused on Jordanian tourism, to support and promote this vital sector.

The competition was organized by the IEEE Women in Engineering group at Al-Hashimiya University, in collaboration with several IEEE student branches in the Middle East and North Africa region.

Al Hussein Fund presented cash prizes to the winners of the competition, with the "ddline" team winning first place, the Pyramids team winning second place, and the "DarVision" team winning third place.

The organizers of the "Wamid" competition in Jordan announced the winning teams under the patronage of the Royal Film Commission, where the teams presented their work and explained their experiences and the challenges they faced during filming and production.

The "Wamid" competition is a unique opportunity for creative expression and cultural collaboration among students in the region. It is organized by IEEE WIE in collaboration with the ISSATM initiative, a regional initiative that aims to bring together creative young people from Jordan, Egypt, and Tunisia within an artistic and cultural framework that highlights storytelling and cultural identity and promotes gender inclusivity through short films that express personal experiences, local traditions, and real-life community issues.
